Lester / Shuan

Luna Hisman leads the ensemble as a woman whose professional authority coexists with an old private wound. Her story makes room for humor, pleasure and tenderness alongside her father’s judgment.

The city inside the film

Call-center culture, hotel rooms, street conversation and the coast share one emotional landscape. Cebuano language and everyday rhythms ground the film’s spiritual strangeness.

A tactile visual language

Captured in 4K on a single iPhone 13 mini, the film works with available light, intimate proximity and local collaborators. Cal Leo’s cinematography keeps the camera close to the people and places of the story.

The next audience

The completed feature is open to distribution, exhibition and producing conversations. Queer independent cinema, regional Philippine stories and ensemble comedy provide starting points for programming. Final runtime, delivery materials and release arrangements are available by inquiry.

The Cebu Cycle

The Yellow Hotel belongs to Andy Denson’s Cebu Cycle, a body of feature work rooted in belonging, care, faith and the search for home. Its Cebu setting connects the filmmaker’s American and Filipino experiences.
